Josip Broz Tito

 

Josip Broz (1892-1980), the President of Yugoslavia, Marshal and the Supreme Commander of the military forces. He joined the Communist Party in 1920 and became it s Secretary General in 1937. After the liberation, Tito directed the reconstruction of the country and the creation of the socialistic system. He was one of the founders of the Nonalignement Movement. He died in Ljubljana in 1980. His funeral in Belgrade assembled the highest-ranked world statesmen. The cult of his personality reached the mythical heights among the ordinary people.
